I had experienced injuries such as broken arms and legs, but never something that serious as death. Most of my family had already experienced death once before in their life, but to me this way something new that stayed on my mind for a few weeks after the funeral. I knew that death was something that was inevitable and that nobody can live forever, but knowing about and experiencing death were two different things.


I thought about how precious life really is, how it can be take away so quickly, and appreciated my family and what they had sacrificed so that I could live comfortably. At the funeral I saw the strong bond of family, how so many people came together, and that stuck with me. All of us hop into the big, white van. The trip is going to take forever! It was very saddening to see such a kindhearted and loveable man confined in a wooden box.


It aggravates me to see him in that condition. I felt very lonely because I was used to having him right beside me at all times. Our entire family, relatives, friends, co-workers, and the people whom he had helped before started filling the house. I took a seat beside my grandmother, silently telling her that everything will be alright. Soon enough everyone else in my family surrounded her and begun crying as well.


I didn't know what to do. Seeing my cousin's corpse made me feel heartbroken, once again; but I didn't want to show any vulnerability. I wanted to put on a brave face for my family because I wanted them to worry about themselves and not the younger generation.


When I was first found out about the traumatizing and horrible news, I had broken out in tears and everyone was trying to console me.
